trying on ksubi specs at the karen walker/ksubi collection display. what do you think?

I road tripped down to the Gold Coast over the weekend to attend the Joy Hysteric Sunset Soirée with fellow blogger babes Sammi, Fabliha, Tasfia, Bianca, Fran and Kaity. The event was hosted at Lauxes on The Park in Broadbeach and was to celebrate the Spring/Summer season of designer collections that will be hitting Joy Hysteric shortly. We were treated to yummy canapes, joyfultini's (deliciously designed by store owner Mel), macaroons, an arbonne cosmetics touch up booth, karen walker and ksubi display and one hell of a good runway show (with designers cammila & marc, nicholas, bec & bridge and maurie & eve to name a few). My bank account is not going to be looking good this summer - sorry hubby! I had a very fun time mingling among the very fashionable crowd including the always lovely, Sara Donaldson of harper & harley, special guest to the event. I will do a proper outfit post from the event and also post up some of my fave looks from the runway soon so you guys can see what you have to look forward too! Special thanks to Mel from Joy Hysteric for throwing such a lovely event - can't wait to do it all again for Winter/Autumn now!

You can check out the Joy Hysteric shop at Queensland Ave, Broadbeach or you can shop them online here.

As promised, here are my favourite looks from the Joy Hysteric Spring/Summer launch I attended last weekend. Designers included ksubi, camilla & marc, bec and bridge, shakuhachi, steele, Maurie & Eve, Nicholas and the beautiful accessories were by Paula Walden. I think I need to spoil myself with that Nicholas pink top - so gorgeous! All of these lovely looks will be available shortly at Joy Hysteric and online here.

I love mixing vintage pieces into my wardrobe; mostly because it’s nice to wear something that you’re not going spot twenty other girls wearing as you walk down the main street in Brisbane but also because I really like to idea of recycling clothes. Sometimes it seems so wasteful to see shops jam packed full of clothes, half of which are on sale a couple of months later – I always wonder what happens to the stuff that doesn’t get sold – do they go to clothes heaven or are they donated? Who knows. The problem is I am incredibly lazy with vintage clothes shopping as it takes a bit of patience and knowledge to track down the good shops and then to track down the good items. Here’s the part where Ela Hawke Vintage come in… they’ve taken the grunt work out of it and tracked down all the trendy unique vintage pieces already. If you haven’t checked out their online store already I would highly suggest you do. Right after reading this next bit anyway… Ela Hawke and Yo Vintage! have gotten together to source the most awesome military inspired pieces and have created their first lookbook capsule collection called Armed Forces. Military pieces seem to be one of those trends that just won’t quit and I personally wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a nicely tailored military style jacket. As a little added incentive, konstantinos readers get a 10% discount on the launch day which is this Thursday 11th October. Just email the code: EHVIAK through when organising payment. Shop Ela Hawke Vintage here.

Here's my delayed outfit post from the Joy Hysteric event a couple of weeks ago. Unsurprisingly I'm kind of wearing all my favourites -  senso quincy boots, Sportsgirl sunnies, Molten store 'shake dreams from you hair' tote and my 1989 the label shorts. All of these items are getting worn regularly at the moment. I am on the look out for a pair of longer shorts though - more tailored and work appropriate? Anyone have any ideas to help a girl out?

My Weekend In A Nutshell
Where: Broadbeach beach, Max Brenner, Mecca Bah, Foxy Bean
Ate: Chicken tagine, Homemade granola, BBQ
Drank: Hot chocolate, Brown Brothers Moscato Rosa
Wore: Portmans striped top, 1989 the label shorts, Sportsgirl shoes, Jessica Buurman starfish cuff
Bought: Lilya talei pants, viktoria and woods Austin blouse, Molten Store necklace

I hope you all had lovely weekends too - here's the hoping the next one comes quickly!

Some photos from the recent launch of Gail Sorronda's new store in James st, Fortitude Valley. As expected the store is laid out beautifully with pieces from Gail's new collection 'Oh My Goth!". I am especially coveting the little white flatforms you'll spy near the new table above. If your around James St make sure you pop by and say hello to the lovely sales girls. See more of Gail's collection here: www.gailsorronda.portableshops.com

Monday - Portmans top, Molten Store necklace, Sheike trousers
Tuesday - Sportsgirl tee, skirt from Princess Polly, Lovisa necklace
Wednesday - Cue top, Maurie & Eve pants
Thursday - Sportsgirl singlet, Lilya pants, General Pants blazer
Friday - Josh Goot flower cluster dress from threadbare.co (on sale til 25th too!)

So lately on Instagram I've been doing daily 'what i wore' pics. I don't know how much longer I can keep doing it daily (sorry but sometimes I'm just not that creative in the morning and repeat outfits!). But it is a little peek at what I wear during the week - my office is smart casual which is good because I don't have to wear anything too corporate and then we have casual Fridays so I'll normally wear a dress or something a bit more fun. This year I seem to be living in the pants/top combination which is keeping me very happy; there have been some ridiculously good pants out this year and it's just so damn comfortable.

If you'd like to follow my daily what i wore adventure my instagram username is 'iamkonstantinos'. Otherwise you can see my instagram feed on my facebook page here. I will try to keep doing them fairly regularly.

A friend's birthday BBQ over the weekend was the perfect opportunity to whip out my new Zimmermann floral cap. Have a feeling this baby will become a wardrobe staple for me this Summer. Get your own here (I think a few varieties have sold out now but they are doing another drop so stay persistent).

Loving the designer collection of tees available on eBay Fashion Gallery right now. Designers include Michael Lo Sordo, Bec & Bridge, Lisa Ho, Alex Perry and Camilla. After spending, probably way too much time trying to decide, I ended up clicking buy it now on the Michael Lo Sordo printed one but geez I kinda want them all. A simple tee is going to be my summer staple this season, that’s a good enough justification right? You can buy your own here

Some snaps from the Vogue Nationale event last week which included a runway show by one of my favourite Australian online boutiques Style Milk. Some of the designers featured included Maurie & Eve, Lilya, We Are Handsome, Talulah, Bec and Bridge and Secret South (definitely had me lusting after some We Are Handsome swimwear by the end of the show). All hair and makeup was styled by the Vogue Nationale salon team and of course they achieved those beautiful curls/waves that I always fail at (sigh). If you are looking for a new summer do’ you can check out Vogue Nationale salon on Queen St, Brisbane or check out their website here. I'm thinking a new cut is in order for summer and am currently looking at the always gorgeous Olivia Palermo for inspiration... Nervous about getting the chop though! I always get long hair envy as soon as I go any shorter!

I'm back from Sydney AND with a bunch of new outfit posts to share! First up is a proper post dedicated to the new love in my closet my josh goot flower cluster dress. Josh Goot is one Australian designer I have been particularly aching to own a piece of for years now. This dress is no exception, its so easy to wear and I instantly feel super chic once I put it on - josh goot you are my hero.

Finally got to visit the beautiful Bondi Beach while in Sydney this time and I didn’t want to leave. The coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama was simply beautiful and I’m so glad I was there for the Sculptures By The Sea 2012 with unique works of arts at every point throughout the walk. If your down in Sydney make sure you do go and take a look. I wore my new Michael Lo Sordo for eBay Fashion Gallery shirt which is featuring regularly with its cool graphic print and bright summer colours. I’m still very much crushing on the Lisa Ho palm print tee and Bec & Bridge ampersand tee from the designer collection too! I also wore out my newly purchased Topshop menorcan sandals which I LOVE (ps they come in silver, black and mint too!).  Still pining for a Topshop (and Zara) to open up in Brisbane…

While down in Sydney I took a trip out to Taronga Zoo and may or may not have reverted back to an 8 year old girl. I can’t help myself I love all the animals, my extra special favourites this time were the giraffes, elephants (two babies pushing each other into and playing in the water is one the sweetest things I have ever witnessed), gorillas and two very cute playful seals. The view from Taronga Zoo is amazing one of the best views of Sydney in my opinion…those animals sure are spoilt. So I took the opportunity to do a little impromptu-shoot with the beautiful backdrop of Sydney harbour. I’m wearing my amazingly comfy and cool lilya talei pants and carrying my new favourite tote by fieldguided from Style Milk(so glad I finally have one of these after seeing them everywhere for the past 6 months on everyone else). It was a beautiful day and I’m sure I’ll pay the zoo another visit over the next few years where I’ll get way too excited all over again.

I love my online shopping... just ask the ladies at work or visit my instagram, pretty much my whole wardrobe has been bought online. But the whole online shopping concept is getting a little stale and I am definitely loving Popbasic's new concept which will shake up online purchasing and make it that little bit more exciting. Popbasic is the brainchild of Wikifashion and basically you are able to opt in each month (no subscriptions or anything sneaky like that) to receive an exciting little package in the mail full of two trend and one basic piece and a beauty or lifestyle surprise. The prices will range from $50-100 and all items will be available to purchase separately also. They will be launching VERY soon so make sure you pop over to the website (here) asap as you'll receive $10 credit towards your first parcel! They also have a little giveaway on their facebook page too if you wanna check that out

I finally got to visit the gorgeous Molten Store Pop Up Shoppe yesterday... All the beautiful treasures from the online store gathered into a beautiful space on James St and kitted out by Archer and Archer - it was aaa-mazing. I am still thinking about that gorgeous neckpiece (can everyone wish/hope/pray there is still gold available for me please)!. Anyway I think the pictures speak for themselves really... If you're in the Brisbane area make sure you head down to 15 James St, Fortitude Valley and say hi to Jessy! It's only popped up until 30 November!

Adding a prop or anything into an outfit shoot is so much more fun and comfortable for me… It just feels more natural when your able to do something instead of just standing there. So when I wore out my new palm tree tropical print skirt from Front Row Shop (psst get your butt over to that online shop stat) I seized the opportunity to purchase one of the drinking coconuts from my local fruit shop and hurried off to have some good tropic fun. Even though I didn’t really enjoy my coconut – my friends ended up drinking most of it (I think I prefer the cocobella flavoured ones oops!) I am really happy with how the photos turned out – bring on December 1st and the official start of Summer!

PS. Is everyone else loving all the ‘tropical’ prints that are out at the moment?! I think words like palm tree print/pineapple printed/tropical would be at the top of my google search list at the moment. I feel like this is a trend I can really get on board with and I’m hoping it doesn’t fade out too quickly!

Last weekend I attended a morning tea preview for label House of Cards’ autumn/winter collection. We turned up to a beautiful vintage-y house and drank tea, perused the lookbook, ooohed and aaahed at the rack of beautiful clothes, nibbled on cupcakes and sandwiches and started picking out what we wanted to pre-order from this beautiful autumn/winter collection. It’s not even summer yet but I’m already planning a killer outfit post out at an ice skating rink in the HOC sky blue, fleece, flamingo print dress (pictured above). You can see more of the collection on the HOC facebook pagehere.
