Whilst I do love a late night online shopping fix there’s nothing that beats that instant satisfaction of going out shopping and finding the perfect addition to your closet. So I've written a little Brisbane city shopping guidefor for those who come to visit my hometown. Enjoy!

BessieHead(Wintergarden, Queens St Mall)
One of my favourite places to check in regularly; Bessie Head stocks my label loves Nicholas, Bassike, Kahlo and the super fab Lonely Hearts lingerie (yes that beautifully lacey cut out bra that you’ve been seeing everywhere!).

ViolentGreen(Elizabeth St Arcade)
Another must shop stop Violent Green stocks essentials like Karen Walker and Lover.

Gorman(Queen St Plaza, Adelaide St side)
Quickly becoming another favourite spot to shop is Gorman. The brand stocks beautifully made (and mostly work appropriate – bonus!) designs in fun fabrics and prints that will have you leaving with a smile on your face.

DavidJones(Queens Plaza)
It’s given us Brisbane girls the actual chance to try on Josh Goot clothing, nuff said.

sass & bide (Queens Plaza)
I think I, along with almost every other girl, wants that awesome grey and blackpolka dot sweater from their recent a/w 13 collection and if that’s not your style I'm sure you’ll be able to find another piece of fashion-y goodness (aka a drop dead gorgeous feathered mini skirt).

Designer Archives (Wintergarden, Queen St Mall)
Specialising in designer resale and consignment,I pop in here every so often hunting for a designer jackpot.

Sheike(Wintergarden, Queen St Mall)
My go-to for when I’m needing a work wardrobe fix like tailored pants or a nice corporate-but-still-fashionable top.

Zimmermann(Queens Plaza, Adelaide St side)
If its summertime and you find yourself in Brisbane and you need a new bikini do yourself a favour and go straight here.

Princess Polly(Adelaide St)
Fun finds that won't break the bank too. They also stock lots of young, emerging designers.

Witchery(Queens Plaza, Queen St Mall)
Another one of my favourite haunts which has been earning me quite the rewards on my membership lately. Witchery just keeps getting better and better at offering up quality, trend of the moment pieces. My essentials this season were there leather joggers and ocelot printed silk top. I’m still tossing back and forth at night over their leopard print coat too.

CountryRoad(Queen St Mall)
Another good place to stop by if your after fashionable but work appropriate outfits.

PeterAlexander(Queens Plaza)
Your one stop pyjama shop.

Aesop(Adelaide St)
The store is beautiful, the packaging is pure simplistic genius and the products... heavenly.

Mecca Maxima(Wintergarden)
Stocking all the good stuff like NARS, Diptyque, Bumble and Bumble, Eve Lom, Kiehl's, Kit, Malin + Goetz, Philosophy, Stila and YSL.

Lush (Myer Centre, Queen St)
You'll leave guilt free knowing all products are animal and enviro-friendly plus the bath bombs smell delicious.

Sportsgirl(Queen St Mall)
Bardot(Myer Centre)
ForeverNew(Myer Centre)
Portmans(Queen St Mall)
Cotton On (Queen St Mall)

Chanel (Queens Plaza)
Tiffany& Co (Queens Plaza)
Louis Vuitton (Queens Plaza)
Hermes (Edward St)
Salvatore Ferragamo (Queens Plaza)
Gucci (Edward St)
Ralph Lauren(MacArthur Central, Edward St)

These are justmy favourites within Brisbane city - I am thinking about doing a guide for Greater Brisbane though, yes? Also feel free to let me know if I've missed somewhere special

I hope you like my guide to shopping my lovely little hometown of Brisbane! For more information on all things Brisbane click here.

PS. Brisbane babes! Don't miss the AJE. Pop Upsale this weekend (March 15-17) at Haute Boheme, Fortitude Valley. Who doesn't love a good pop up sale (especially when it involves sequins!). Click HERE for more deets.

wearing
kahlo wanton playsuit
general pants white blazer
spendless shoes
witchery wallet
michael kors watch

I attended the Scotch & Soda carindale store launch last week. It was the opening of one of their unique and very few tent concept shops and as you can tell from the picture it is basically a gorgeous canvas tent instead of your usual shopfront. Very unique and a nice change of pace from the usual retail spaces - plus it smells amazing (thanks to the stores own scent). The clothing is beautifully crafted and quality timeless pieces can be found in ever corner.

I wore one of my favourites; my KAHLO wanton playsuit. Which can so easily be dressed down or up depending on the occassion. Also wearing a blazer I bought form General Pants years ago now but still remains one of my wardrobe essentials. This winter I plan to search for its black counterpart.

PS. sorry for the big gap between posts! I've been very unwell but am happy to eport I am pretty much all better now - hooray! Just in time to enjoy the upcoming long weekend too!

I recently went to the Brisbane AJE. pop up sale at Haut Boheme, other then the gorgeous AJE. pieces which now filled the store, Haut Boheme is one of those gorgeous shops you wished you had the pleasure of working in because its just so aesthetically pleasing. From the pom pom ceiling to the seashell chandelier to the golden wall and natural textures/decor I was in love. I'm thinking that Chantelle, Haut Boheme owner, has another calling in interior design should she ever feel the itch. For now though ill just have to track down my own beach boho chandelier and try to convince hubby that we do in fact NEED a gold wall in the house.

You can pop in for a visit here: Winn Lane, Fortitude Valley, QLD, AUSTRALIA.

wearing
country road silk pocket shirt blouse
zara cow print shorts

Absolutely crushing on my awesome new Zara cow print shorts (which I was lucky enough to have a kind friend from the UK ship to me - thanks again Harri!). They've been my go-to shorts the last couple of weeks and I love that the print is different but still goes with so much!

Sorry for my short hiatus too - between a crazy time at work and trying to plan the rest of our America trip the blog got neglected a bit! But I'm back now :)

wearing
asos centre front split pencil skirt
sportsgirl white tank
general pants co white blazer
sportsgirl cats eye sunglasses
michael kors watch

This skirt is wonderful because it fits into my new favourite category of clothing - the versatile section; as in I can wear to work but then out to play (the double score). I bought this after I spotted the gorgeous Eleanor Pendleton from InStyle sporting the white version at MBFWA. You can see how she styled it here

Hope everyone is squeezing every last second out of this perfect weekend!

wearing
cameo sleepy town skirt (c/o lalabazaar)
homies grey marle t-shirt
rubi boots

Loving the exaggerated pockets on this skirt - useful and stylish is always encouraged in my wardrobe. Oh and of course, leather look.

If you haven't already, check out online boutique Lalabazaar for brands like cameo, finders keepers, minty meets munt, lolita, keepsake and more. They promise to be the most affordable online boutique and even offer price beating of 10% if you do happen to find the apple of your eye for cheaper elsewhere ;) just don't blame me for the credit card damage.

PS. They're also running a pretty sweet pop up sale at the moment too.

wearing
finders keepers 'road to love' pants (c/o lalabazaar)
country road intarsia polka dot knit (similar here, here and here)
kate spade bag
michael kors watch

In the last few months I would say I have had a polka dot explosion - out of about 6 purchases I think 4 have been covered in dots of varying sizes. I am dumbfounded as to how I didn't cotton on to the whole polka dot thing earlier as its such a great way to add a bit of pattern/difference to any outfit without a crazy print (aka a harder piece to pair with others). I think I can honestly say this polka dot knit will NOT be last purchase of the polka dot kind. I also may have just purchased some polka dot wall decals from etsy... I have a problem.

But on to the pants! With thigh high splits I feel like its really best to keep the top part demure (hence the sweater!). As ill always abide by the wise advice of "pick one - boobs or legs" and don't do both cause its just not classy, honey.
